Falex

Emmanuel Maurice, known as Falex, is a self-taught Nigerian multidisciplinary artist working across painting, mixed media, music, and fashion. His practice is rooted in family legacy — first taught to draw by his older brother as a child — and shaped by personal loss, spiritual devotion, and an unflinching commitment to creating from nothing. Falex's work is textural and narrative-driven, blending bold impasto portraiture with unconventional materials including concrete and Ankara fabric. His pieces have been exhibited internationally and collected across multiple countries. He is based in Lagos.
