Benjamin Omoike

Omoike Benjamin (b. 1990) in Lagos, is a full-time studio artist based in Lagos. He is a graduate of Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Nigeria, where he obtained an OND (General Arts) and an HND(Painting). His interest in art was spurred from going to exhibitions and he later developed his knowledge of art after graduating by undergoing various art workshops with the Universal Studio of Art, National Theatre, Iguanmu.

He uses the medium of painting and mixed media to explore and personalize his techniques to relate to urban issues and allude to the lives and moods of everyday city people, most of his works have a profusion of rich texture more so using some tactical motifs and forms to relate with African Contemporary Art to give it an uncommon finish.

Omoike is committed to his art and style and emphasizes that by experimenting with different techniques and materials. He strives to push the boundaries of what is considered contemporary traditional art by creating pieces that are visually striking and emotionally resonant, to generate something unique and meaningful, and to attain artistic professionalism in grand style.
