Quarshie Tornu is a Ghanaian artist, sculptor and educator. He has exhibited widely, building an international reputation over several decades and being regarded as a seminal figure on the West Africa scene. Born in Accra, Ghana, in 1974, educated at the Martech College of Art, Ghanata College of Art, Oluwale College of Art, Creative College of art, Limpopo College of art and Shilo Tiegio College of art.
His inspiration as a painter comes from nature/environment and the beauty of our rich Ghanaian and African culture. Quarshie describes his working style as seminal - abstract, and he creates images from his imagination. He mentors young artists and works with creative communities to help them develop new ideas.
