Collection: Olamilekan Akinsola

Olamilekan Boluwatife Akinsola (b. 2001) is a Lagos-based Contemporary Visual Artist from Ogun State, Nigeria. His passion for figurative composition, and portraiture, and expressing them with subtle and melancholic colors and charcoal are evident in his works. His art explores various mediums such as painting, and drawing, using charcoal, graphite, acrylics, and oil paint to portray his visual language.

 Akinsola's work is heavily influenced by his emotions, culture, environment, and life experiences. Through his art, he finds expression for his lost words and reflects on his growth, beliefs, and self-discovery.  He has participated in several art workshops and group exhibitions, showcasing his unique style to a diverse audience, some of which are; the Iconic Lagos Exhibition at Didi Museum (2022), Levi Unite Il Annual Exhibition in Abuja (2022), Total Energies in Lagos (2023), Sogal Lagos Auction at Signature Beyond Art Gallery (2023), +234 Art Fair at Ecobank (2024) and Emerging Expressions at Madhouse the University of Lagos (2024).

Currently, Olamilekan lives and practices in Lagos, Nigeria, where he continues to create
thought-provoking and visually stimulating piece, documenting his experiences in his works and challenging his viewers' perceptions and understanding of the world around them.
