Collection: The Durus

Chinedu Duru is a painter and wood carver whose works are greatly influenced by his experiences growing up. His interests span religion, culture, and human interactions, which are depicted in his works.
His paintings are a fusion of vibrant colours and Ankara, which he combines with acrylic and buttons, sometimes to create abstract portraits that he does in collaboration with his wife, Lolo.

Duru’s woodworks are inspired by the faces he sees on cracked walls, which are extensively interpreted in his works, ranging from stools, benches, wall art and other objects.
