This piece captured 3 market women who were seen gisting while doing their various
market runs.
Amebo is a market ritual among market women aside from their real hustle, these women
are known for giving correct and versatile information about what and whatnot going on in
the community, most time true and sometimes exaggerated.
Documenting this is a nostalgic memory of mine from the market where my mom sold her
goods, I enjoy listening to them sometimes because most of the things they said were
always funny and also prudent, a personal experience of mine from their gist was when my
mother was once saved from their "amebo" ritual while I overheard them gisting about
someone that disliked her so much to the extent of hurting her.
