Nelson Okoh is a self-taught Nigerian artist from Delta State. He tells his captivating stories on canvas, using oil or mixed media and palette knives in the style of impressionism. Okoh's paintings have a monumental physicality and movement and, as such, are stunningly intimate in execution and evoke a passionate expression of the soul.
Okoh is inspired by the beauty of nature and everything around him. This is obvious as his oeuvre primarily constitutes portraits, landscapes, abstracts, and figurative subjects. He believes that “the world is filled with people if we decide to open our eyes to see beyond what is visible to the average person". Through his work, he weaves emotions that draw the viewer into a web of thoughts.
Over the years, Okoh has grown to become one of Nigeria’s most sought-after artists.
